COLUMBIA — Many local businesses and law enforcement agencies are getting ready for the first gameday of the season, and with that comes heavy preparation.
Mizzou sold out its home opener, anticipating 62,000 people to be in attendance for tonight’s game and continuing their six game sell-out streak rolling over from last season.
Dru Vaughan, the general manager of Stadium Grill, says he’s been in Columbia for more than 10 years and is expecting a heavier crowd.
“It’s a hot day, we’ll have some people trying to come in to cool off,” Vaughn said. “We’re always busy before game days.”
Vaughn says the proximity of Stadium Grill to Memorial Stadium brings great business, but with that comes a need for more workers.
