Bryan to receive 1.6 million EDA infrastructure grant [Video]

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) announced Tuesday that Bryan will receive a $1.6 million EDA grant as part of a $4.1 million investment in Texas infrastructure.

The $1.6 million federal grant will go toward roadway improvement and support manufacturing business expansion at the Texas Triangle Park, according to the EDA. The federal grant will be matched with $5.4 million in local funds. The EDA predicts that the project will create 130 jobs and generate $165 million in private investment. The funds are derived from the 2023 Disaster Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act.

Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo said in a statement that the Texas grant is part of a larger Invest in America plan.
