A Boston man who pleaded guilty to driving a teenage girl to three states to make her have sex for money was sentenced to prison on Wednesday, Acting United States Attorney Joshua Levy’s office announced.
“Human trafficking is not just a horrific crime; it is a profound violation of human dignity. The unimaginable harm inflicted upon the minor victim here is far too prevalent in our communities,” Levy said in a statement. “Our Civil Rights Unit and Human Trafficking Unit, established less than two years ago, remains committed to bringing traffickers to justice, providing unwavering support to survivors and relentlessly pursuing those who exploit the most vulnerable.”
Leon Blount III, 31, was sentenced to 11 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, Levy’s office said. U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs ordered him to pay $214,500 in restitution to the victims.
