COLUMBUS, Ohio — Big Lots announced Thursday that the company will begin “going out of business” sales at the rest of its store locations.
The sales will start in the coming days after the company said it doesn’t think its previously announced asset purchase agreement with Nexus Capital Management will be completed. However, Big Lots is working toward completing an alternative going concern transaction with Nexus or another party.
Big Lots hopes this sale will be completed by early January.
The going out of business sales are happening to protect the value of its estate and the company says this will not affect ongoing transactions, according to a news release.
