GVM’S Tom Crosse didn’t have to jump through hoops to sell Hurdlestown House at auction.
The old cut stone residence in need of repair and 74 acres in Broadford, Co Clare was guided at €1m, and that was the opening bid in GVM’s Limerick city auction rooms in Glentworth Street last Thursday, September 5.
The bids quickly climbed before Mr Crosse dropped the gavel at €1,112,000. It is understood all the interested parties were from the business community as opposed to agricultural. It is believed a businessman based in Shannon won the day.
As 24 acres of the land is woodland and the historical property requires some TLC, it represents a high price per acre.
