Thousands of dollars worth of equipment was stolen from a nonprofit storage unit in West Linn.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Two people have been arrested in connection to a break-in where thousands of dollars worth of equipment was stolen from a self-storage unit in West Linn. The unit belongs to a charitable organization — Nonprofit Home Inspections — that assists low-income households in providing home inspection services.
The storage unit at NW Self Storage on Willamette Falls Drive was burglarized twice overnight on Oct. 16 — nearly seven hours apart. Each time, thousands of dollars worth of equipment was taken, West Linn police said.
Charles Lewis, the president and CEO of the nonprofit, said that he first got an alert on his phone, coming from the Ring cameras he’d placed inside the unit.
