AMLO rams against The New York Times [Video]

In his morning conference, Lopez Obrador vents an investigation into narco-financing in his campaign in 2018. “The New York Times is a rag,” AMLO said.

CDMX- Times Media Mexico. – The New York Times sent Jesús Ramírez, Lopez Obrador’s spokesperson, a questionnaire regarding an investigation carried out by the newspaper about close staff of his and his children receiving money from a drug cartel. The questions infuriated the Mexican president, who rammed against the news organization. 

Visibly upset, he said: “The questions are threatening, arrogant. Telling us that they are doing an investigation with information from the DEA, where people linked to me received money, not in 2006, but in 20018, even that they gave money to my children and that they gave me until 5:00 in the afternoon, an ultimatum to answer”(SIC). AMLO told his spokesman not to respond since he would do so in the ‘morning briefing’ of Thursday, 22 February, which he is holding at the National Palace.
