MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – What started as a vision to bring Christmas to families struggling from the aftermath of Hurricane Helene in North Carolina turned into an unexpected nationwide effort.
Jamee Booth and Jason Pugh of Mobile felt called to action after Helene wreaked havoc in North Carolina.
Violent winds and waters washed away homes and wiped out years of memories.
“This cannot be forgotten,” said Pugh. “These people up there in these mountains are not okay. They’re gonna be okay, they’re gonna fight, but they need help.”
After sharing their vision with Fox10 last month, Booth said they were shocked when they began receiving phone calls and donations from all over the U.S
