LUFKIN, Texas — A mandatory evacuation in Lufkin has been lifted after a gas leak was resolved Monday evening.
Police and fire crews responded to the leak at Lyons LP Gas, located at 3008 N. John Redditt Dr., which prompted residents in the 2300 – 2400 block of Old Mill Rd., and all of Peggy Ln., to evacuate.
“The gas leak issue at Lyons LP Gas has been resolved and all mandatory evacuations have been lifted,” the city said around 6:20 p.m. “Roads are now open and traffic flow along Loop 287 and Old Mill Road will return to normal. Thank you for your patience and understanding. “
