After selling his tech business Andrew Trimble is enjoying ‘the glamorous trips’ [Video]

Like many of his former Ireland teammates, Andrew Trimble has made a successful career in business since his retirement. Having recently sold his sports management firm Kairos to Teamworks, he talks to Ben Haugh about his leadership style and transition from rugby hero to entrepreneur

When Ireland’s rugby team beat New Zealand for the first time in 2016, it became an instant career highlight for all the players in green, including Andrew Trimble.

But the former Ulster winger rates the sale of Kairos — the sports management firm he co-founded with tech entrepreneur Gareth Quinn in 2018, to leading US company Teamworks for a reported £15m — just as highly as that famous day in Chicago’s Soldier Field.

The deal, which saw the businessmen receiving senior roles and shares in the US firm, was signed last December before being announced in January.
