Crews from Carthage Water and Electric return from Florida [Video]

CARTHAGE, Mo. — Crews from Carthage Water and Electric (CWEP) return home after helping to restore power to hurricane affected areas of Florida.

Four linemen from CWEP arrived back in Carthage Monday afternoon (10/14). The crews spent a week in central Florida, helping to restore power to homes and businesses hit by high winds from hurricane Milton.

The storm crossed the Florida peninsula after making landfall along the state’s gulf coast as a category three hurricane.

Under the direction of Orlando Power, crews from CWEP worked alongside crews from several other states across the U.S.

Their primary job was to restore power lines in the city of Orlando that were damaged by the hurricane’s fierce winds.
