Wanted person rescued from house fire in southeast Colorado Springs [Video]

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – One person was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a fire started in a southeast Colorado Springs home overnight.

Police were driving in the area of Chelton Road and South Academy just after 4 Monday morning when they spotted what appeared to be a big house fire on Darkwood Place. Officers pulled up to the street and saw an attached garage engulfed in flames. They then found an unconscious man in the backyard, who was rushed first to a Colorado Springs hospital, and later, to a Denver facility. He had suffered serious smoke inhalation and remains critical at last report.
