House fire in Oregon, family safe [Video]

OREGON, Ohio — A family is safe after a fire broke out at their home in Oregon Monday morning.

The flames began just after 1 a.m. on South Wheeling Street, just south of I-280.

Fire crews at the scene told WTOL 11 the blaze started in one of the back bedrooms.

The Red Cross is assisting the family that lived there as investigators work to determine the cause of the fire.

Toledo Edison was called out to turn power off to the home.
