GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – More than 18,000 people (new figure) in Northeast Wisconsin lost power late Tuesday morning, especially in the Fox Valley, as another storm tore through Northeast Wisconsin.
At 11:45 a.m., We Energies reported almost 6,600 homes and businesses without electricity in Outagamie County, including 4,250 in Appleton and 1,425 in Greenville, and almost 2,400 in Winnebago County, nearly all of them (1,999) in Neenah.
Wisconsin Public Service reported 5,300 customers without power in Brown County, a huge spike from 6 less than 30 minutes earlier. This includes 1,121 in the Ashwaubenon area; 1,179 in Hobart; and 1,160 in Lawrence.
Utility crews are fighting the weather as these outages leave thousands without power for air-conditioners or fans with dangerous heat forecast Tuesday afternoon.
