Dubliner Joshua Reynolds’s jewellery business is only getting started, but he is already generating solid income thanks to his eye-catching designs that have created a buzz online, writes Kate Demolder

Joshua Reynolds became a goldsmith and gemstone setter by accident.

At school, he excelled at art but academia wasn’t his thing.

He eventually landed a place on the National College of Art and Design’s media and photography course, only to pivot by way of a night out.

“I met a friend of a friend after a few pints and he told me that he was on the metalwork and jewellery course and said it was class.

“So I went to a few lectures and loved it. I don’t know if my preconception of jewellery was girly or whatever…how wrong I was,” he says.

Reynolds completed his degree and went straight to work in hospitality.
