Crews clean up after round of severe weekend weather in Rutland [Video]

The city of Rutland is recovering from another round of severe weather Monday after heavy rain and wind left a mess behind Sunday evening. On Cleveland Street, a city-owned tree nearly missed a home when it fell. While the Department of Public Works said there was no damage to city infrastructure, crews were hard at work. “They didn’t sleep last night,” Commissioner Bob Protivansky said. “We’re still at it.”Drains were clogged as a result of the debris, which caused flooding in some areas. “We got crews in to start cleaning those off,” Protivansky said. “A lot of residents were helping us out, cleaning those off too.” Alex Burke was out helping a neighbor on Robbins Street during the weather.
