First Alert Forecast: Few showers and breezy today as Debby rolls south of us [Video]

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – It’s the first day back to school for a handful of students across metro!

Thankfully, the forecast will cooperate despite the fact a tropical storm will be a couple hundred miles south of us this afternoon.

The morning will start clear and muggy with temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Through the afternoon for the ride home from work and school, you’ll notice an increase in cloud cover, a few isolated showers, and breezy conditions.

The small rain chance and the wind is all due to Debby that will be moving into south and coastal Georgia this afternoon and evening.

Most of north Georgia will experience gusts between 15-20 mph, but slightly higher wind gusts, upwards of 25-30 mph, will be possible for our far southern and eastern counties.

Temperatures today will top out in the upper 80s, and we will stay …
