Annual WIC Breastfeeding celebration educates mothers [Video]

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) -The month of August is National Breastfeeding Month, and a Wichita Falls nutritionist wants mothers to know that there is support if they need it.

Officials from the Women Infants and Children (WIC) program hosted its Annual Breastfeeding Celebration today to educate mothers on the importance of nourishing their babies.

More than 160 mothers attended the event. They each took home vital information for caring for a new baby, whether that was child care assistance, feeding techniques, or most importantly finding a balance between breastfeeding and returning to the workforce.

“So, every year, we just want to celebrate all of our breastfeeding families or expecting moms who are planning to breastfeed just to let them know we are here to support and all of these community partners we all share the same mission and goal just to bring these kids up healthy and strong.” WIC Service …
