A dog’s reaction to seeing his new home won viewers’ hearts, but his confusion over the extra barrier leading outside had everyone in stitches.

This golden retriever, Barley, only knew a studio apartment before moving into his first house, with owner Bri Jackson. She brought him to the new digs in North Carolina for a look without any furniture during a June 16 TikTok video posted to the account @missjackson_in3rd.

Barley ran around the house, scouting out his new room upstairs and all the space he now had to play. With his tail wagging the entire tour, the surprises kept coming. He realized the home includes a backyard he gets to call his own, an outdoor space to come and go as he pleases.
