Recognizing the road to recovery | News [Video]

ROCHESTER, Minn. – On July 26, a celebration was held for those on the road to recovery and those who help the process. The ‘Faces of Recovery’ event was hosted by Serenity Homes, EmPower Treatment Center and Kyros. 

The cookout provided a space to recognize the work that these recovery services provide for people battling Substance Use Disorder.  

Director of housing at Serenity Homes, Michelle Jennings says, “I think it’s just an awareness that it’s possible to get sober and have safe housing and just to celebrate your individuality and being alive and the miracle of it.”

Having staff and peers truly understand the struggles that come with addiction can bring someone one step closer to sobriety.
