Destructive New Hampshire microburst damages homes, vehicles [Video]

The National Weather Service has confirmed a microburst struck a town in southern New Hampshire and caused some destruction Tuesday night.The microburst, which hit Milford at 7:57 p.m., had peak winds of 95 mph and knocked down approximately 150 trees.No injuries were reported, but the NWS said its storm survey team spotted seven damaged homes and two damaged vehicles.One homeowner told WMUR, WMTW’s sister station in Manchester, the storm started rolling in around 7 p.m., and the sky was orange, with the rain falling sideways.On Alpine Road, trees fell onto cars and into yards. One tree also fell onto a home’s roof, but the homeowners, who have lived in that house for 40 years, are doing OK.There are several tree crews in the neighborhood and along all the surrounding roads.
