Montgomerys Beacon Center burglarized over the holiday weekend [Video]

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The Beacon Center is a place that provides hope. It’s home to several nonprofits that serve neighbors in Montgomery.

It provides help with education, work development, health care and more, but over the holiday weekend, someone took advantage of the resources there.

Pastor Richard Williams says the thieves took equipment from the adult education space that totals more than $4,000.

He says those items can be replaced and with the community’s support, they can rebuild and continue to be a place of hope for all.

“We’re encouraged in this moment, and we’re staying consistent knowing that we’re going to live into our mission where we say we’re the beacon of hope on Rosa Parks, we shine a light on Gaston Avenue,” Williams said. “We’re going to continue to remove barriers for our neighbors so they can have a better life.”
