Harrisburg sneaker culture displayed during weekend convention [Video]

Harrisburg is growing into a major sneaker hub.

Over the weekend, Jikorey Brantley, 25, and Brayden Creter, 19, hosted SoleCityPa, a sneaker convention held July 6 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg.

The show featured popular brands including Nike Dunks, Yeezys, and Jordans, alongside specialty items and kid’s shoes.

The two entrepreneurs were born and raised in central Pa. — Brantley grew up in Harrisburg, while Creter spent much of his life in Swatara Township.

They met while working at the Capital City Mall in Lower Allen Township, in a sneaker store named SolePly.

Brantley’s hope is that SoleCityPa. helps bring the community together and creates a positive activity for the city’s youth. Growing up in the heart of the city, he expressed how difficult it can be for inner-city kids to be presented with activities that won’t get them in trouble or lead them down the wrong path.
