Tire maintenance tips ahead of summer road trips [Video]

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) – National Tire Safety Week aims to teach drivers about proper tire care and maintenance to keep everybody safe on the roads.

The West Virginia Parkways Authority is predicting another busy travel period this Fourth of July, with almost 1.4 million cars expected to be on the West Virginia Turnpike between June 27 and July 7.

Before you hit the road for the holiday or summer vacation, experts at Discount Tire say it’s important to get your tires checked.

“There’s certain things to look for with tire safety and what they mean,” said Tyler Frafjord, a store manager at Discount Tire. “Just like any other national safety week, we want to make sure people are on the roads safe, and really just promote overall safe driving habits.”
