LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas firefighters responded to a south valley house fire Sunday that left six cats dead.
Around 9:31 a.m., Clark County Fire Department received initial reports of a vehicle on fire inside of a garage at a house in the 5900 block of Aurora Gold. Arriving units found smoke and flames coming from the garage of a three-story, single-family residence.
Inside, they found a vehicle on fire and began working to extinguish the flames. NV Energy and Southwest Gas also responded to the scene to assist with utilities.
Firefighters also searched inside the home, reporting smoke but no fire. Additionally, no injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters, though six cats were found dead inside.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though the dollar loss is estimated to be around $100,000.
