4 acre fire in Forest Grove under control [Video]

FOREST GROVE Ore. (KPTV) – Crews in Forest Grove were busy Tuesday with a quickly growing four-acre fire.

Around 1 p.m., Forest Grove firefighters were called out to a brush fire on Northwest Shearer Hill Road near Gales Creek.

After crews arrived, they upgraded the incident to a second alarm and then a third alarm fire to follow the rapid spread of the flames.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control after about an hour and prevented the fire from spreading to nearby structures.

Investigators determined the cause of the fire was a burn pile that spread due to dry and windy conditions.

Officials remind residents of Washington County that a burn ban is still in place.
