WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) – The West Monroe/West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce hosted their 2024 State of the City Luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 21.
During the luncheon, Mayor Staci Mitchell highlighted improvements the city has made over the past year.
Mayor Mitchell says the city spent around $9 million for infrastructure development in 2023. The city was able to increase that amount to $17.5 million for the 2024-2025 fiscal year through grants awarded to the city.
Mayor Mitchell says the Ike Hamilton Expo and West Monroe Sports Complex are the primary economic generators for the city. She says they look forward to making improvements toward city expansion and funding.
