BEAVERTON Ore. (KPTV) – A deputy with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office died Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash in Beaverton while driving home on his electric scooter, the office announced Thursday.
Just after 5 p.m., deputies responded to a crash on West Baseline Road and Southwest 201st Avenue, where they found community members trying to give first aid to Deputy Richard Thompson. Despite life-saving efforts, Thompson was declared dead at the scene.
