Volunteers help out non-profits while ensuring visitors and athletes don’t go hungry during the Little League World Series [Video]

Newswatch 16’s Mackenzie Aucker caught up with some volunteers working the concession stands.

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — One of the best parts of taking in a baseball game is a trip to the concession stands. 

Megan Mengel is one of many volunteers at the Little League World Series, dishing up food and drinks this week. Mengel is volunteering with her sorority, Alpha Sigma Tau. 

Volunteers from Lock Haven University will get to take home a small percentage of what they sell.

“We’re gonna use that to go towards our philanthropy; we support roads to peace, a women’s shelter in downtown Lock Haven, and we will also be using for shirt money,” said Megan Mengel, Alpha Sigma Tau Lock Haven University. 

This is Mengel’s first time volunteering at the Little League World Series. She tells us it’s awesome to see all of the different cultures.
