Boxes on top of a Colorado family’s home ignited after their dog accidentally turned the stove on.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Investigators in Colorado found an unlikely culprit that caused a house fire last month.
Video from a Colorado Springs family’s home security system shows the family’s dog accidentally turning on the stove. Seconds after the dog walked away, boxes sitting on top of the stove caught fire and the kitchen became engulfed in smoke.
Fortunately, the homeowners were alerted by a high heat notice on their Apple HomePod. That allowed them to put out the flames before the fire department arrived.
One of the residents of the house was taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, but no other injuries were reported.
