Vermont man steals truck, kidnaps woman and slashes officers, police say [Video]

A Vermont man pleaded not guilty to more than half a dozen charges after leading South Burlington Police on a chase Monday evening. Court paperwork lists his address as “transient.”Police are calling the actions of the officers involved “heroic.”Police responded to Hannaford Drive, near the Tesla parking lot, just before 5:30 p.m. for reports of a disturbance.When they arrived, officers encountered a man who was wanted for an unrelated incident. While taking him into custody, the man reported that another man, 39-year-old Shannon Edwards, had threatened him and others with a knife in the woods nearby. Police say Edwards had outstanding warrants for multiple violent offenses.”Officers did a little digging and learned that Edwards was in fact wanted on multiple arrest warrants for violent crimes and also being an escapee from the Department of Corrections,” said Shawn Burke, the chief of South Burlington police.Edwards was previously wanted for allegedly stabbing …
