USDA invests billions in rural and tribal communities [Video]

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced a significant investment by the USDA, allocating $6.3 billion to rural and tribal communities across 44 states.

The USDA is focusing on strengthening rural water infrastructure, with nearly $642 million dedicated to various projects. Vilsack highlighted the impact of these investments, stating, “These investments will build modern infrastructure that will attract employers to the nation’s smallest towns and most remote communities, creating jobs, vibrant main streets.”

A portion of this funding, amounting to $5.7 billion, is earmarked for delivering clean and reliable energy to local areas. The USDA is collaborating with state and local governments, private nonprofits, and federally recognized tribes to build or improve rural wastewater systems.

Montana and Washington are among the states set to benefit from these investments.
