Urban Roots hosts Dead Plant Society gardening workshop for families and teachers [Video]

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – New to gardening or feeling unsure where to start? Winter is the perfect time to plan ahead for spring and summer and Urban Roots is here to help.

Stephen Zipkin, field trip coordinator at Urban Roots, stopped by Morning Break with all the details of this month’s Dead Plant Society workshop. The specific theme this month is Planning Home Gardens and the goal to help make the garden work for you, your health and your pocketbook in the high desert. There’s also a School Gardening class being offered for teachers.

It takes place Saturday, Jan. 25 from 9-11 a.m. at Urban Roots (1700 E 2nd St, Reno). Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children. Click here to register.
