Two teens arrested for stealing marijuana in alleged Soap Lake burglary [Video]

SOAP LAKE, Wash. – Two teenagers were arrested after allegedly stealing marijuana from a dispensary in Soap Lake, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said that they responded to a break-in alarm around 1:30 a.m. Friday at a marijuana shop on State Route 28 West in the Lakeview community, an unincorporated area of Soap Lake. No suspects were found at the scene, but since the business had also been burglarized on Jan. 27, deputies initiated a stakeout.

While hiding nearby, deputies said that they saw two people stuffing items into a bag in the shop’s parking lot. A foot chase ensued, and one suspect, a 16-year-old boy, was caught with several sealed packages of marijuana. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary, possession of a controlled substance, first-degree attempted burglary, second-degree possession of stolen property and second-degree theft, according to the sheriff’s office.
