Tropical rain bands all day around Hurricane Debby [Video]

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Hurricane Debby is expected to make landfall in north Florida this morning. The rain bands continue to wrap around the system and push through the Tampa Bay area.

There will be longer breaks between the bands today, but tropical downpours are still possible at times. Watch for flooded streets where heavy rain falls on the saturated ground.

Higher than normal tides expected through today as well. Any location near a body of water will see the water stretch farther from its banks. This may cause flooding in homes and businesses in these communities as well.

Debby should move slowly through Georgia and South Carolina and bring day of flooding rain to those states. Meanwhile, it will gradually dry out for the Tampa Bay area.
