TORRINGTON, CT (WFSB) – A Torrington man is recovering at Hartford Hospital after trying to move a rattlesnake off a busy road.
Joey Ricciadella is an animal lover.
When he spotted a snake in the middle of the road on his way home, he just wanted to help.
He grabbed a shirt from his back seat, placed it over the snakes’ head and then picked it up to move it.
That’s when the snake then bit him in the hand.
“It sounded like he was almost trying to make a funny voice like at first I thought he was messing with me,” said Brittany Hilmeyer.
She is used to Ricciadella, her daughter’s father, being a jokester. However, this time, no jokes were being told.
“He was getting to the point where he really couldn’t talk. You count understand him. It was like trying to talk to someone with a mouth full of marbles,” she continued.
