Toledo braces for single-digit temps; warming centers and buses open for relief [Video]

Temperatures are expected to drop into the single digits at the beginning of the work week and will remain dangerously cold into Wednesday.

LUCAS COUNTY, Ohio — Temperatures in Toledo are expected to drop into the single digits starting sometime on Sunday night or Monday morning and will remain there into Wednesday.

Wind chills are expected to be well below 0° during that time.

The extreme cold temperatures are sure to impact schools, homes, and vehicles, but can also be very dangerous to people.

For that reason, warming shelters all across Lucas County will be open for those who need a warm and safe place to ride out the cold snap.

The city of Toledo released a map of shelters here.

TARTA will have a warming bus at the Downtown Transit Hub on 612 N. Huron so customers who are waiting for transportation can get in out of the cold. The warming bus will be available …
