Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos, speaking to SKAI TV on Tuesday, said that the government is striving to transform Greece’s national production model, so as to increase the economy’s productivity and competitiveness.
“We envision and want to put into practice the productive transformation of our economy, to become much more competitive in Europe and the world,” he said, while stressing that “the new production model concerns everyone, every area of the country and especially the younger generations, who we want to remain in Greece and have families.”“Without leaving any economic activity behind, such as tourism which is the spearhead in many areas, there is a need to strengthen industry and boost it through research and innovation, in order to increase productivity and exports, with the aim of reducing the trade deficit,” he added.
