The Chelsea community comes together to donate meals ahead of Thanksgiving Day | News [Video]

CHELSEA, Okla. — 150 families will sit down on Thanksgiving and enjoy meals donated by members of the Chelsea community. 

Today, businesses, firefighters, and police came together to create a Chelsea Thanksgiving meal donation. 

Local business owner Jeremy Conn had the initial idea. 

“I got wind that a few people needed a meal and...I took care of it,” said Conn. “Well, the next three [or] four days, we [took] over 60 to 70 phone calls, and I thought, ‘Oh my God, there’s a need!’ I walked out of my office, almost in tears. I had a pit in my stomach.” 

That’s when he called in reinforcements. Firefighters, police, small business and much of the Chelsea community stepped in to help. 

“It wasn’t just us. Businesses paid, people took off work, people brought in their children. Any community can do this,” said Conn. 

The support made a big impact on this small town.
