TCMU honors young entrepreneurs and sells their products [Video]

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Children’s Museum of the Upstate is honoring six young entrepreneurs for their creativity and business insight.

When you walk into the museum’s gift shop, you’ll notice some new toys for sale.

“Two peas in a pod! I thought that was such a cute idea turning it into crochet,” 12-year-old Desiree McNutt said about her crocheted creations.

McNutt is one of the handful of young people chosen to sell their items at the gift shop for 30 days.

From beaded suncatchers, to bug bungalows and clay earrings, the six business owners who created these items were chosen among nearly 30 kids at the museum’s first-ever young entrepreneur market in July.

Each young person had to a create a business and marketing plan, and their products were judged based on creativity, fun-factor and play value.
