Tattoo artist and childrens bookstore team up to support Lincoln nonprofit [Video]

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Two Lincoln businesses teamed up on Monday evening, bringing together books and tattoos for a good cause.

Local tattoo artist Aislyn Mayse held a signup for tiny tattoos at Elleinad books, a children’s bookstore.

The profits from those tattoos, as well as a portion of books sold from the store on Monday, will go to Linked2Literacy, which provides inclusive books and education through community based programs in Lincoln.

Mayse is the owner of Inked Illusion, and said it’s important for small businesses and nonprofits to stick together.

“We’re coming together, helping each other, getting each other business,” Mayse said. “Anything and everything helps.”

Mayse does all her own tattoos, and said tattooing others “doesn’t even feel like a job.”

“I’m just drawing on people,” Mayse said. “I feel like a therapist and I love it. I love hearing everybody’s lives.”

Each tiny tattoo is one to three inches wide and costs …
