In Denver, a bipartisan team of two completed a final signature comparison on incoming ballots, with an average of 300 signatures per hour. A batch of 60 ballots with mis-matching signatures was identified, involving residents from six counties. A man was in court Wednesday to face charges in connection with an illegal drug-making operation in Everett, Massachusetts.Everett police said Alexander Yaksic, 33, of Everett, was arrested on Revere Beach Parkway Tuesday on a federal probation warrant. A judge ordered him held on $25,000 bail, citing “disturbing” circumstances.Sky5 was over the parkway on Tuesday, where police and fire officials were seen surrounding a gray sport utility vehicle. Investigators wearing gloves appeared to be searching the SUV.On Oct. 30, Everett police and other first responders arrived at the scene of a car crash on Wilbur Street. While on scene, officers discovered an unknown substance which was collected and sent to the crime lab for analysis. The incident did not pose a threat to the public, and Everett police said it determined that there were no arrestable offenses at that time.A few days later on Nov. 3 and Nov. 4, Everett police received additional reports that someone discarded unknown substances at several locations in the city. Everett Fire and Inspectional Services Department responded, and while wearing protective gear, safely cleaned and discarded residue from the scene. On the morning of Nov. 4, the Inspectional Services Department also found a discarded container on Sycamore Street. The investigation led Everett police to 51 Gledhill Ave. on Monday, where police uncovered a lab that had the ingredients to produce MDMA/ecstasy, police said.WCVB crews saw bottles of glacial acetic acid on the front porch and steps of the home.Police in nearby Malden confirmed a scene near Holy Cross Cemetery on Lynn Street on Monday was also related to the Everett incident. From Sky5, splotches of a white substance could be seen on the roadway, and chemical containers were on the side of the road. “Mr. Yaksic is the suspect related to an incident at 51 Gledhill Avenue and at other locations in the City of Everett and he will be charged with numerous narcotics-related offenses,” Everett police and Mayor Carlo DeMaria said in a joint statement. There was no immediate threat to the public, the city said.Yaksic will return to court on Dec. 9.
