Potential Tropical Cyclone Six is expected to bring rain to the Upstate area of South Carolina Thursday into Friday. The system is set to become a Category 1 hurricane before making landfall in Louisiana on Wednesday. As it moves inland, it will fling clouds our way causing the sun to slowly disappear midweek.Thursday will likely see rain chances that evening leading to widespread rain starting Friday.Weather models not in full agreement just yet as to what happens next. One scenario is that the remnants of this tropical system would continue its trek north and keep rain in our forecast Saturday and likely Sunday. Another scenario is that the remnants would be blocked near Tennessee causing the system to essentially stall out. If this happens, our area would see rain chances extended into early next week.The bottom line is that rain is coming late week and into the weekend.
