THROUGH ALL THE VIDEO. MIKE, WHAT HAVE YOU SEEN? ED. WE SPOKE WITH THE ATTORNEYS REPRESENTING FOUR PEOPLE WHO WERE IN DOWNTOWN BOSTON BACK IN MAY 2020 FOR A DEMONSTRATION AFTER GEORGE FLOYD WAS KILLED. THEY CALLED THEIR CLIENTS PEACEFUL PROTESTERS, WHO THEY SAY WERE ATTACKED BY BOSTON POLICE. AND IT WAS CAPTURED ON VIDEO FROM HOME. THESE VIDEOS SHOW SOME OF THE FOUR PEOPLE SUING THE CITY OF BOSTON AND THREE POLICE OFFICERS OVER WHAT HAPPENED ON MAY 31ST, 2020. SO THERES A LOT OF VIDEO IN THIS CASE. IM BACKING UP, IM BACKING DOWN, IM BACKING UP. IM LISTENING TO YOU, AND YOURE FRAME ME. THREE OF THEM WERE HIT WITH BATONS, ONE IN THE FACE. TWO. TWO OF THE OTHERS WERE KNOCKED OFF THEIR FEET WITH BATONS. WHAT? IT STARTED OUT PEACEFUL EARLIER IN THE DAY. ESCALATED INTO VIOLENCE AND LOOTING THAT NIGHT, LEADING TO DOZENS OF ARRESTS. BUT THE ATTORNEYS SAY THE POLICE WENT TOO FAR, PAINTING EVERYONE, INCLUDING PEACEFUL PROTESTERS WITH THE SAME BROAD BRUSH. YES, OF COURSE. ARREST THE PEOPLE WHO ARE ENGAGED IN MISCONDUCT. IF THEY RESIST, THEN OBVIOUSLY, YOU KNOW, REASONABLE AMOUNT OF FORCE IS WHATS ALLOWED. BUT ALLOWING OFFICERS TO USE FORCE CARTE BLANCHE ON ANYBODY WHO IS AT A PROTEST, AS WE ARGUE, VIOLATES THE LAW. THEY WERE AUTHORIZING OFFICERS TO USE FORCE ON ANYONE WHO REMAINED, EVEN THOUGH THEY HADNT BEEN TOLD THEY HAD TO LEAVE OR GIVEN AWAY TO LEAVE. ATTORNEY MARK REYES SAYS HIS CLIENTS ARE STILL IMPACTED BY WHAT UNFOLDED THAT NIGHT. THEY TESTIFIED IN THEIR DEPOSITIONS ABOUT HOW IT MAKES THEM MORE FEARFUL OF POLICE WHENEVER THEY SEE THEM. JENNIFER ATTORNEY, HOWARD FRIEDMAN, SAYS THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND ITS OFFICERS NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A WELL-RUN DEPARTMENT, YOU HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT. YOU HAVE TO DISCIPLINE OFFICERS. YOU HAVE TO LET THEM KNOW YOU CANT DO THAT BECAUSE THERE WILL BE OTHER PROTESTS. BOSTON POLICE SAY THEY WONT COMMENT ON PENDING LITIGATION. The joys of Christmas morning all captured on camera. This is *** story of little Christopher in 1989. It starts off um they’re playing in the snow basically like *** snowy scene and then it cuts to the little boy playing in the snow, um and then from there it cuts again to Christmas morning. And yeah he opens his presents underneath the tree and it kind of goes throughout like the whole day of Christmas they go and visit family open presents with family. It’s *** story Destiny Johnson has watched dozens of times, but she’s never met Christopher or his family. Um, we bought this TV like about *** month ago and we wanted to get *** VCR to go with it for the nostalgia of it, um, and I was at Goodwill and I finally found one after weeks of searching. Little did Destiny know in that VCR was *** 14 minute long tape sharing Christmas memories of Christopher and his family. I decided to bring it home and see what was on it, um, and when I got home and set everything up, I put it in and I was like, oh my God, what did I find? The story shares the excitement of Christopher checking out his new presents like *** Ghostbuster proton blaster. And airplane toys airplane. It also shares the journey of Christopher meeting his newborn baby brother Taylor for the first time. I realized that mom is very pregnant and they’re asking him about like if he’s excited to have *** little brother. Where’s the baby Christopher? And then it cuts again and mom has had the baby um just like not even *** full month after Christmas and it’s him eating the baby. Through *** cassette tape. Destiny has learned so much about the little boy and now she’s on *** mission to find *** Christmas miracle and get this tape back to Christopher and his family.
