Sunny and hot weather expected over the weekend [Video]

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – High pressure has caused temperatures to break 90 degrees at the MOV Region Airport which has officially kicked off the heatwave. Overnight mostly clear nights will allow for temperatures to fall into the mid 60s overnight before we return to the low to mid 90s for Saturday. Due to the summer like weather isolated pop-up showers and storms could occur over the next few days.

Some showers could make it into the area Sunday as a disturbance passes. Behind this, the heat and humidity will build in once again with highs in the mid 90s and heat indices possibly in the low 100s. This will cause Monday and Tuesday to be PinPoint Yellow Alert Days. As always try to limit outdoor activity in the afternoons when it is the hottest and drink plenty of water.
