Stormy Start to Saturday; brighter and more comfortable by Sunday [Video]

We are starting off the weekend tracking a line of showers and thunderstorms. The storms are below severe weather criteria, but they are still producing downpours and numerous lightning strikes. The thunderstorm coverage is going to be higher this morning compared to the afternoon. Most of the activity from this first round should push east of central Indiana by 1 PM.

Skies will remain mostly cloudy early in the afternoon with brightening skies by the evening. Highs will reach into the mid-80s. The humidity is also going to be a factor today with dew points hovering in the lower 70s. You can expect plenty of dry time this afternoon. However, an isolated storm cannot completely be ruled out.

A cold front will slide across the region late in the evening. Ahead of the boundary, there is a chance for additional thunderstorms to fire up. A couple storms may become strong …
