Springfields OACAC receives grant to assist underinsured & uninsured patients with contraceptives [Video]

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) — The Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation, or OACAC, is using a grant to pay for contraceptives and visits for uninsured and underinsured patients.

The Right Time grant is an initiative of the Missouri Foundation for Health. There are no income qualifications for the grant. Anyone can participate.

Providers at OACAC say this access to contraceptives is life-changing for women who need it.

“It makes a world of difference to them,” said Nurse Practitioner Amy Adams at OACAC. “A lot of times, they were pretty desperate for something, and again, they were trying a less effective method and were a little bit afraid. I hear that every day, you know, I was really concerned, and I’m so grateful because I was really afraid I was going to end up pregnant.”

The Springfield clinic hours happen monday through thursday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. There are also …
