South Sioux City High School kicks off first phase of new Career Academy [Video]

SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KTIV) – Monday marked the first day of South Sioux City High School implementing its Career Academy.

It’s all starting with incoming freshmen. This year, all of the freshmen classes will take place in one part of the building so teachers can focus on supporting them.

Then after this year, the school will add three upper academies. Those will deal with, construction and engineering, business and programming, as well as public and human services.

Next year, all freshmen will get to choose from one of those three choices to further pursue.

Implementing the career academy was all in an effort to make sure students were prepared once they left high school.
