BOISE, Idaho — The NCAA has overturned a targeting call against sixth-year safety Alexander Teubner from Boise State’s 37-34 loss to No. 7 Oregon, per sources.
Teubner was ejected early in the second half Saturday for a hit on quarterback Dillon Gabriel after officials reviewed the play and deemed it targeting.
The controversial call came on a first down at Oregon’s 22-yard line. Not only did the Broncos lose one of their best defensive players, but the Ducks also gained 15 yards due to the personal foul.
Following the game, Boise State appealed the ruling to the NCAA. According to sources, the call was incorrect and Teubner should not have been ejected at Autzen Stadium.
