The social media platform Bluesky reports a significant increase in sign-ups from the UK, suggesting that Elon Musk‘s controversial comments regarding nationwide riots have prompted users to seek alternatives to X.
Bluesky has experienced a 60% rise in general activity from UK-based accounts, with several Members of Parliament recently joining the platform, according to the company.
Musk has faced accusations of escalating tensions following days of far-right riots in Britain, sparked by online misinformation concerning the murder of three girls in northern England last month.
